From what I was told today, David Luken (division 3 tech) was at Don Speer's shop this afternoon. Dave doesn't think this applies to Top Sportsman cars at this point only Pro Stock. He is supposed to clarify with NHRA and get back to Don with accurate information.

I am sure though that if we don't actually have to have today it won't be long before NHRA mandates........for what it's worth!

I also have a letter of design approval from NHRA  (Glendora)

No Eric, that's not what it means.
I sent my design to NHRA just to make sure my design, material list and finished product was approved and within the rules.

However there are specs on these. You must follow the general rules then add any particular class additions.  The rule states that round tube must be a minimum of 7/8 OD and .065 wall.  Any flat (including tube wall as a ring) must be .250 thick. Then incorporate that with the 360 degree and 6" from u-joint addition and thats your spec, at least that is what I was told

Brian wasn't harpin on you just voicing my opinion on the powers that be........and yes I know the spec on what material it has to be made of, and where it has to be ..... ours is 1" .065 tubing and is 4" from the joint should be good to go..........ERIK.
